For some or maybe almost every “actor” in the fashion industry this was undoubtedly the biggest fashion month ever, a high-stakes season that saw new creative directors debut their visions for fresh creative leadership under the spotlight at Chanel, Dior, Jil Sander, Loewe, Jean Paul Gaultier — and many more. Inspire, desire or the opportunity to surprise, delight and overdeliver ? When it comes to Matthieu Blazy’s big debut at Chanel, Tim Blanks even points out “It was the one show that incontrovertibly did what it had to do. Not just for the brand, but for the business, for the industry”. But then what is the business and the industry all about? It is much more than just the designer versus house debate, and why time and empathy matter this season, but a reminder that fashion is also about authenticity, providing joy and confidence.
