A vibrant, vital gathering of contemporary design culture took place for the second time in Paris. Glassware as poetic objects where sincere design and artistry craftsmanship become a testament to the meticulous hands and passionate hearts of artisans striked my eyes. Each piece of Akua Objects poetic tableware bears witness to the fusion of tradition and modernity, where the echoes of the past resonate through contemporary design. Through an intimate, personal approach, collections inspired by recollections of events and people of Akua founders’, Akua Objects bring forward a fashion-forward perspective to glass.
Lobmeyr continues to explore for more than 200 years the alchemy of glassmaking with an elegance à l’excellence. With tastefulness and artistic serenity Lobymeyr is constantly blending tradition with innovation while collaborating with esteemed designers like Josef Hoffmann and Adolf Loos. Lobmeyr’s deep love for materials, their emotional connections to products, and a personal commitment to an incessantly interpretation of glass and light, can be sensed in Lobmeyr’s exquisite handmade and elegantly balanced stemware. Some of their “small crystal treasures” being created during the Age of Austrian Art Déco and having influenced the Modernist movement are still guarded by the most prestigious museums of applied art.
And then WE ARE ONA, a marvelous gastronomic collective, not just simply “popped up” at MATTER and SHAPE. This unique creative culinary studio, setting up ephemeral restaurants in the most unique settings, gives creative freedom to young renowned chefs and unique experiences. The invited London based chef, Imogen Kwok, conjured up a 6 course lunch menu and a 8 course dinner menu accompanied by a curated beverage selection in a splendid space conceived by renowned designer Willo Perron. Would have loved to taste …
